Praėjusį penktadienį, liepos 10 dieną, Šilalės kultūros centre vyko Simono Gaudėšiaus gimnazijos brandos atestatų įteikimo šventė. Jos pradžia buvo pažymėta iškilminga vyriausiųjų gimnazistų ir mokytojų eisena J. Basanavičiaus gatve į Kultūros centrą, kur didžiojoje salėje susirinko gausus būrys dvyliktokų (brandos atestatai buvo įteikti net 146 abiturientams), mokytojų, didžiulis būrys giminių, artimųjų, draugų. Šventėje dalyvavo Šilalės rajono savivaldybės meras Jonas Gudauskas, Šilalės rajono savivaldybės administracijos direktorius Raimundas Vaitiekus, Administracijos direktoriaus pavaduotoja Vera Macienė, Švietimo, kultūros ir sporto skyriaus vedėja Rasa Kuzminskaitė.
Pirmasis abiturientus pasveikino Šilalės Simono Gaudėšiaus gimnazijos direktorius Stasys Norbutas, kuris palinkėjo didelės sėkmės tolimesniame gyvenimo kelyje. Sveikinimo žodžius tarė ir Šilalės rajono savivaldybės atstovai.
Vėliau buvo pagerbti abiturientai surinkę maksimalų (100 balų) įvertinimą brandos egzaminuose: Vilius Gečas, Viktorija Lankauskaitė, Vaiva Narkutė, Agnė Norbutaitė, Simona Petkutė, Karolina Šimkutė, Vytautas Vitkus, Haroldas Zobėla, Gabija Žukauskaitė. Jiems buvo įteikti ženkliukai – garbingiausias Šilalės Simono Gaudėšiaus gimnazijos apdovanojimas. Mokytojams, kurie padėjo šiems abiturientams pasiruošti – Padėkos raštai.

Šventė pasibaigė sudainavus Gimnazijos himną. Išėjusius iš salės abiturientus pasitiko artimi žmonės, kurie abiturientams dovanojo gėles, dovanas bei sveikino užbaigus svarbų gyvenimo etapą.
