Spalio pirmą dieną įvyko konkurso Šilalės rajono ligoninės direktoriaus pareigoms užimti 1 etapas. Konkurse dokumentus buvo pateikę 8 pretendentai, į atranką atvyko 5 kandidatai, kurių pavardės dėl asmens duomenų apsaugos negali būti skelbiamos. Spalio 12 dieną iš dviejų kandidatų meras rinkosi vieną. Pažvelgus į konkurso organizavimo priešistorę ir peripetijas, peršasi įdomios mintys.
Šilalės rajono savivaldybės tarybos narys R. Vaitiekus prisipažino pateikęs dokumentus į minėtą konkursą. Jis savo socialinio tinklo “Facebook” paskyroje rašė: – “Rytoj, spalio 1 dieną vyks konkursas į Šilalės rajono ligoninės direktoriaus pareigas. Vienas iš kandidatų esu ir aš. Bet šiandieną parašiau, kad nedalyvausiu jame ir noriu pasakyti kodėl. Visų pirma, esu savivaldybės tarybos narys ir šis Jūsų pasitikėjimo mandatas nėra suderinamas su ligoninės direktoriaus pareigomis. Vadinasi, laimėjus reikėtų rinktis: taryba ar direktorius? Nenoriu būti išdaviku ir negaliu atsisakyti mandato. <…>” Skamba vos ne didvyriškai, pasiaukojančiai. Galima paironizuoti, kad atsiimti kandidatūrą tikrai reikėjo, juk nesinorėtų išgirsti dar vieno NE, nes jau buvo vienas dėl patekimo į vicemero poziciją. Tačiau labiau tikėtina, kad po visa šita tirada slepiasi rajono vadovų pozicija dėl “numatomo” kandidato, kuriam jau buvo pažadėtas postas? Politikos užkulisuose jau seniai buvo kalbama, kad ligoninei vadovaus O. Šarmavičius, kuris, beje, ir laimėjo II turą. Šį kandidatą versti iš užimamų pareigų opozicija inicijuoja jau antrą kartą. Ar ne klibančią kėdę norėjo pakeisti nauja sąžiningumą deklaruojantys rajono vadovai?
